The results of research work at ZEI are documented in numerous publications and several publication series:
  ZEI Discussion Paper

The "ZEI Discussion Paper" are intended to stimulate discussion among researchers, practitioners and policy makers on current and emerging issues of European integration and Europe’s global role. They express the personal opinion of the authors. The papers often reflect on-going research projects at ZEI. The "ZEI Discussion Paper" are published several times a year.

The "ZEI Working Paper" prominently comment on the economic and fiscal implications of the European integration process. The papers often reflect on-going research projects at ZEI. The "ZEI Working Paper" are published several times a year.

 
 

Schriften des Zentrum für Europäische Integrationsforschung

The "Schriften des Zentrum für Europäische Integrationsforschung“ in the Nomos-Verlag, Baden Baden, deal with basic questions concerning the European Integration and Europe's international development. They mainly comprise books that focus on issues of cultural identity and European policies; thus reflecting ZEI’s concern for the development of European identity and the political perspectives of European integration. The "Schriften des Zentrum für Europäische Integrationsforschung“ are edited by ZEI-Director Prof. Dr. Ludger Kühnhardt.

 
 

Jurisprudential Publications at ZEI

The jurisprudential publications at ZEI deal primarily with EC internal market law, state aid- and public procurement law, infrastructure subsidies, telecommunications law, energy law, the regulation of gambling and pharmaceutical law. Among these are numerous scientific articles in well-known journals at home and abroad, contributions to books, textbooks and monographs. The jurisprudential publications are written or edited by ZEI-Director Prof. Dr. Christian Koenig, LL.M. Further publications of the staff and fellows are listed in the ZEI Annual Reports.

 
 

ZEI Studies in European Economics and Law

The "ZEI Studies in European Economics and Law" in the Springer-Verlag GmbH, Heidelberg, intensively deal with diverse economic issues and questions of the European integration process. The series’ articles primarily emphasize on monetary and economic topics. The "ZEI Studies in European Economics and Law" are edited by ZEI-Director Prof. Dr. Jürgen von Hagen.

 
 

ZEI EU-Turkey-Monitor

The “ZEI EU-Turkey-Monitor” continuously accompanies the process of negotiations between the European Union and Turkey since its start in 2005. The “ZEI EU-Turkey-Monitor”, prepared in close collaboration with Turkish colleagues, appears three times per year and addresses practitioners and academics as well as the interested public. The “ZEI EU-Turkey-Monitor” understands itself as a medium to strengthen the dialogue between Turkey and Europe and intends to enhance mutual knowledge.

 
 

ZEI Regional Integration Observer

The “ZEI Regional Integration Observer” is focusing on comparative topics of region-building since 2007. Region-building is gaining global relevance worldwide. In collaboration with aspects from all over the world, the “ZEI Regional Integration Observer” appears three times a year. It addresses academics, politicians and the interested public about recent trends in region-building in all regions outside Europe. The “ZEI Regional Integration Observer” is a medium to deepen understanding for the independency among the various regional groupings around the world.

 
 

ZEI Annual Reports

The "ZEI Annual Reports" have been documenting and informing about research activities of the Center for European Integration Studies and what it has to offer since 1996.

 
 

ZEI Publications 1995–2008

Since the founding of the Center for European Integration Studies in 1995 the scholarly publication agenda of ZEI and its staff have followed three central criteria:

  • Academic quality
  • Linking theory and practice
  • Projecting the ZEI profile

The research work of ZEI is organized in research groups. All ZEI publications between 1995 and 2008 are compiled in a brochure.
