| Application timeline |
The application process for the MERNI program consists of the four-step procedure outlined below.
|
| Step 1. Submission of application |
Since MERNI adopted rolling admission procedures, applications for the forthcoming academic year shall be submitted as soon as possible and no later than September 1. (Non-EU-Applicants: May 31.) to the following address:
MERNI Selection Committee
Walter-Flex-Str. 3
53113 Bonn
Germany
|
| Step 2. Decision by the Selection Committee |
The MERNI Selection Committee will reach a decision on the admission of individual applicants at its earliest convenience. Applicants may be contacted by the MERNI Selection Committee for the purposes of clarifying existing or requesting additional information complementing that provided in the application documents. It is therefore imperative that applicants provide up-to-date contact information to facilitate such an exchange.
For details on the criteria governing the selection process, see the Eligibility section.
|
| Step 3. Offer of admission |
The MERNI Selection Committee furnishes all applicants that have been selected for participation in the program with an offer of admission, together with instructions on how to confirm their participation.
Due to the rising number of applications we are processing, and our application procedures we have decided to change the standard procedures. After you have received a letter of acceptance to the MERNI program you are required to make a commitment payment of 500 EUR that will be taken off the 10.000 EUR tuition fee. If no payment has been made within 20 days the status of being accepted to the program will be revoked. Please note that a refund of the commitment payment is not possible. These new procedures will be in effect by February 1st 2009 and do only apply to applications submitted after this date.
Applicants are able to request a preliminary statement from the Selection Committee on the likelihood of their admission where such a statement is needed for funding purposes etc. Contact the program administration for further information.
|
| Step 4. Completion of registration |
Applicants are requested to send the signed offers of admission back to the MERNI Selection Committee and transfer the tuition according to the guidelines provided. This serves to complete the registration.
